And C turned lightblue and bit thru the snakes’ head and died for keeps and shit his pants instanly with shit so bad the hot air blowergrate is blowing small bits of fart and blood and missty shit up into our maps and Poor Tony backs offof over C and puts his hands over his madeup map and looks at C thru his fingers.
Context
C's death by Dr. Wo's Drano-laced hotshot at the Copley blower-grate, narrated entirely in the map idiom: the dying man's eye pops "outof his map," his waste blows up into the survivors' "maps," and Poor Tony hides his "madeup map" behind his hands. Death as the elimination of a map (a face) is literalized here — the face-map destroyed, defiled, and covered in one paragraph, three uses in four lines.
