Inside the father's table-confession: the peephole he fought not to drill would have sat "just above the mirror over the sink" — voyeur aperture stacked directly on reflection surface, the scene's grimmest lens-upon-lens. The syntax collapses mid-sentence (the confession is cut off at a dash before it resolves), so what the raw actually supports is the resisted urge and its optics-loaded location, not a completed act; noted as written.
