Context
Casting from life: Bain's compulsive sweat — which Orin has just spent a paragraph diagnosing — is the actual subject of the filmography's Death in Scarsdale (a dermatological endocrinologist obsessed with a perspiring boy, "Marlon R. Bain" in the credits, pp. 987-988). The plan's one-liner lands here: JOI's films are staffed from the family's orbit, and the private pathologies of that orbit are the films' content; Orin cites the movie as documentary evidence about his friend.
