‘Absolutely no, no, nothing got recorded or filmed. Reality being camera-free, being the joke I’ll again underline. Nobody even knew what the guy in the phone book had been doing, nobody knew what the Drama had been.
Context
Found Drama's punchline at maximum compression: the ultimate Neorealism is a genre with no film in it — a dart, a torn White Pages page, ninety minutes nobody records or watches. The joke's theory earlier in the raw: "there’s no audience and no director and no stage or set" because in Reality there are none of these things. It's the optics career's limit case — remove the lens entirely and call what's left the drama — staged as revenge on the critics, planned from McLean, and lucrative enough in grant money that the hoax's unveiling made enemies.
