The Hal-Stice match begins

The match runs in three registers at once — play on #6, data on deLint's sealed charts and the "journalist's" notebook, footage in Mario's camera overhead — the plan's play/data/footage trinity in one sentence-pair. And two of the three recorders are compromised: Steeply's profile is cover, and the charts feed a reader (Schtitt) who lets nobody else look. Watching is never disinterested here; deLint's own standing orders are to keep "the mammoth soft-profiler in direct sight at all times" — a watcher assigned to the watcher.
