Erdedy waits for the pot to arrive

quote

no more imposing on his colleagues and putting different messages on his answering device and moving his car away from his condominium and closing his windows and curtains and blinds and living in quick vectors between his bedroom’s InterLace teleputer’s films and his refrigerator and his toilet

Context

Here is the terminal viewing life pre-figured in a dependent's floor plan. When Erdedy holes up, existence contracts to three points — the teleputer, the fridge, the toilet — connected by "quick vectors," the body reduced to a delivery system between the screen and its two maintenance stations. It is exactly the attaché's coming geometry (recliner, tray, incontinence) drawn without the killing cartridge, which is the point: the shape of the pleasure-death is already the ordinary shape of the sealed-off viewer, and the Entertainment only has to perfect a posture the culture has already built.
