Context
The desert conversation about the consumed viewer's eyes spills across the scene break and lands, mid-sentence, in a dark Ennet House living room — the novel splicing the two panels so the reader can't miss that they're the same subject. The look the operatives were straining to name — stuck, wondering, haunted by a forgotten vital thing — is finished here with "Misplaced. Lost." before the camera even cuts, and then the cut delivers us to a room full of people wearing exactly that expression for exactly that reason. It's the theme's bridge weld: the face of the entertainment-casualty and the face of the depressive are shot in the same light.
