Context
An imagining inside a dream: the narcotics-offering doctor pictured with a crook. Carlisle wires this to pp. 358-9 (074), where a crook-wielding figure trolls Gately's oldest surviving nightmare — the dream-cycle's stock menace merged with the smiling trauma-pro, so the temptation scene inherits the childhood dream's iconography.
