He says there’s another recurving nightmare about a clock with hands frozen eternally at 1830 that’s so trouser-foulingly scary he won’t even burden Green’s fragile psychology with the explicits of it.
Context
The companion nightmare, delivered right after the slow-motion "secret akido 1-2" demo on the 400 block of W. Beacon. The frozen clock sits at the center of the scene's whole time-apparatus: the stepfather who beat him over an Amtrak pocketwatch, the "phobic fear of timepieces," Green feeding him the time every two minutes. The nightmare's content is pure clock — and he won't say what it means, which is the scariest possible reading. Also this scene's sighting in the archive's Clocks-and-datelines motif.
