Context
The A.F.R.'s formal definition, tucked in the endnote identifying Fortier. Two things do theme-work: the name-logic itself — a terrorist cell defined by its mobility equipment, the disability inseparable from the dread — and, dropped as biography, Marathe's older brothers "both struck and killed by trains": le Jeu du Prochain Train seeded as family history, one boyhood circle sorted by the trains into the dead and the legless.
