Context
Inside the 13th-Stepping sermon — newcomers arrive with their nervous systems still on the outside of their bodies, desperate to avoid AA's mirror — the narration pauses to note that a veiled newcomer's mirror problem is of another order entirely: U.H.I.D. exists to manage exactly the exposure recovery demands. The veil and the Program as two incompatible technologies for the same shame. ("U.H.I.D veil" with no period after the D is as the text has it.)
