Mario's night walk past Ennet House (p. 591)
A hard east wind blows Mario’s thin hair straight back off his head. His standing angle is 50°. A female girl in a little fur coat and uncomfortable-looking bluejeans and tall shoes clicks past on the sidewalk and goes up the ramp into Ennet’s back door without indicating she saw somebody with a really big head standing braced by a police lock on the lawn outside the kitchen window.
Context
The 50° stance, stated like a wind reading, while Mario stands transfixed by the taped Madame Psychosis broadcast from Joelle's window. The police lock and lead block make his body part infrastructure, part tripod; the woman clicking past without a glance is the un-comment the House's culture extends even to its lawn.
