The whole geography of affliction laid out as leased real estate around a defunct hospital: the delayed-stress vets, the methadone clinic, the Alzheimer's ward, the catatonics' Shed, the relapse-house, and Ennet House itself, seven Units ringing a dead planet. Recovery is sited literally in the middle of the institutional landscape of what the disease and time do to people, one Unit among a solar system of wards.
