Context
The father's drinking quantified by the paperwork it generated: thirteen rehab stays across the last three years of his life, documented to the Blue Cross statement. The revolving-door figure — thirteen facilities, none of them holding — is the failed-recovery counterweight to everything the program side of the theme is trying to build, and the source of the disease Hal and Orin carry.
