The rationalist's revolt against the Program's epistemology: if this is a disease, why is the prescription prayer, and what era has he woken up in where a career is dismantled to be told to pray for relief. The objection is entirely reasonable and entirely beside the point the House keeps making — that reasonableness is precisely the armor the disease hides behind — but the transcript lets the objection stand, unanswered, in the resident's own indignant voice.
