This is a renaming: the same material survives, but names or labels changed between draft and print.

In the published book. This concerns the book as a whole rather than a single scene. Ennet House founding = scene 42 (pp. 137–138)

Evidence. Independently corroborated. On Joelle/Hal; single (Moore) on the rest — Farber's 2009 essay on editing Wallace re-prints Moore's "Queer Tony” becomes “Poor Tony", "Year of the Twinkie” becomes the “Year of the Whopper", and P.G.O.A.T.-acronym items: a second venue of the SAME witness, not independent corroboration. Documented by Steven Moore's first-draft collation; Hal-as-"David" in the earliest draft D.T. Max's biography of Wallace, now also firsthand-sighted Riles's firsthand archive account; Joelle's name sourced from Gale Walden's sister (1986), her recovery substance later from Mary Karr D.T. Max's biography of Wallace; Slansker=Steeply firsthand-corroborated from the drafts — "Slansker is an early name for Hugh Steeply's female persona"; NEW second-David renaming: "In a subsequent draft the character later named as Marlon Bain is called David Foster Wallace (Box 16.5)" [hering-ff Ch.1] — TWO draft characters carried Wallace's own name (Hal-as-David, Bain-as-DFW), both erased before print.

Further notes. Moore: the Subsidized-Time dating "gave Wallace quite a bit of trouble" — chronology instability is documented at the composition level, which the YDAU-dating debates should weigh (cf. Max's "one bit of data that points to 2011, possibly an error, possibly a deliberately misleading clue" D.T. Max's biography of Wallace). Same-stratum additions via Farber's 2009 essay on editing Wallace: "Charles Tavis imitates Pierre Trudeau, not Richard Nixon" — a Tavis detail change not in Moore's collation as we have it — and Wallace "favors the acronym of “prettiest girl of all time” to the phrase itself" (the MS spells the phrase out where print uses P.G.O.A.T.). Galley-layer cross-ref RESOLVED: the blogspot HTML shows the p. 431 galley-only material is year, the alone (galley the adverted year, the Year of the Whopper → print "the adverted Year of the Whopper") — "Year of the Whopper" stands in both states, so the year-rename layer was settled before galley stage; no rename contact.
