Endnote 82 — The Incandenza boys as slobs

In seeming reaction to their mother's compulsive cleaning, both Orin and Hal are terrible slobs, and Hal gets away with it because Subdorm C's third-floor prorector, the "incredibly lax and laid-back Corbett Thorp" (p. 999), never inspects. Mario, by contrast, always makes his bed, and the note details Hal's green-and-black plaid flannel sheets and a tagless winter-camp sleeping bag he uses as a comforter.
