Endnote 57 — DMZ and the sense of time

Reports that written accounts of how DMZ warps time-perception strike Pemulis as vague and mystical rather than rigorous; the one image he half-grasps is an Italian lithographer's self-portrait on the drug as a Futurist sculpture plowing through time, "kinetic even in stasis" (p. 996), time spraying off him like water.
