• When: UNDATED — the House was founded, renovated, and furnished decades before YDAU by a since-dead anonymous Boston AA ex-con (his cerebral-hemorrhage death at sixty-eight dated only to "the Year of the Yushityu 2007..." O.N.A.N. year, unremarked outside Boston AA)
• What: Ennet House was founded and outfitted by a nameless, extremely tough old Boston-AA ex-con (who led early-recovery dope fiends on after-hours boosting expeditions for the furnishings — sobriety not being instant sainthood). His creed: everyone, regardless of the trail of slime they drag in, gets the same shot at recovery through total surrender; in the early days he required incoming residents to try to eat rocks to prove their willingness to go to any lengths for sobriety, a practice the MA Division of Substance Abuse Services eventually asked him to discontinue. "Ennet" was not part of his name.
