• What: How Poor Tony first became entangled with the Québecois insurgents: for a heavily cut bundle split six ways, Poor Tony, Lolasister, Susan T. Cheese, Bridget Tenderhole, Equus Reese, and the late Stokely Dark Star wore identical red leather coats, auburn wigs, and spike heels and served as human decoys in the Sheraton Commander operation — an androgynous Québecer flung "foul semi-liquid violet waste" in the face of the Canadian Minister of Inter-O.N.A.N. Trade, and the dozen identical epicene figures then scattered in a dozen vectors to confuse the security detail (an old F.L.Q. trick). Poor Tony and Cheese met the Antitoi Bros. (only one of whom "could or would speak") at Inman Square's Ryle's Tavern. This is the debt that later makes the Antitois his "place of very last resort."
