Pabst scholar at N.Y.U. paralyzed by the neurotic conviction that the world holds a finite number of simultaneous erections, so that his own tumescence guiltily entails the detumescence of some more-deserving man. Notkin takes the high-speed rail down every couple of weeks to be there for him.
