By mid-afternoon there are gathered around the recliner: the attaché; his wife; the Prince's personal physician's personal assistant (sent to see why the attaché missed the Hilton and ignored his beeper); the personal physician himself (sent to find the assistant); two armed Embassy security guards (dispatched by an irate Prince Q———); and two Seventh Day Adventist pamphleteers who "had seen human heads through the living room window and found the front door unlocked and come in with all good spiritual intentions" — each successive searcher sitting or standing "very still and attentive, looking not one bit distressed or in any way displeased," all watching the recursive loop, "even though the room smelled very bad indeed."
