The Daddy's own childhood: his Momma, the movies, the Knievel clippings

• What: The one point where Joelle's telling and Notkin's agree outright is the Daddy's own childhood attachment. Joelle remembers her Daddy's Uncle T.S. saying her Daddy had thought his own Momma "Hung the God Damn Moon" (scene 150, Joelle-focalized memory). Notkin's account to the interviewers carries the same figure with a mechanism attached: he "had an extremely close only-child and watching-movies-together-based relationship with his own mother and seemed to reenact the closeness with Madame Psychosis" — the reenactment claim is Notkin's, as printed (scene 159). Joelle adds a boyhood texture datum at Gately's bedside: her Daddy had followed Evel Knievel as a boy, cutting out pictures (scene 166).
