• What: Woken in Axford's single by the commotion of Hal trying to free Ortho Stice — whose forehead has frozen fast to a hallway window overnight — Troeltsch emerges cowlicked and immediately narrates the crisis into his fist for the "Eyewitness News-Center," thrusting the fist at the trapped, agonized Stice for comment until Stice begs Hal not to leave him immobilized with Troeltsch. In the aftermath Mario's secondhand relay credits Troeltsch with having torn Stice's face in the freeing — and 167 corroborates rather than disputes it: Hal's on-page pull fails ("we couldn't pull it off"), and the injurious freeing happens off-page after Hal heads downstairs for hot water, leaving Troeltsch at the window; Troeltsch and custodian Kenkle apply a whole roll of toilet tissue to the ripped parts, and Troeltsch turns the wreckage into a concession — per Gopnik, charging two bucks a look at Stice's ruined face.
