deLint characterizes Hal's development into a "torturer"/"chess on the run" player
texture · ~multi-year development, told 11 Nov YDAU
- When: UNDATED (~by 11 Nov YDAU; describes multi-year development, basis: deLint's account to Steeply)
- What: deLint tells Steeply that Hal has become an essence-torturer as a player rather than a straight-out killer like Stice or Wayne — always two or three shots ahead, slicing the court into sections and setting up angles from the start of the point, "chess on the run." He notes Hal "took a lot of bringing along," "didn't used to quite have the complete game," and that E.T.A. helped him find that he "doesn't need pace." Nobody stays back and out-controls Incandenza anymore. Hal cannot be interviewed by Steeply (Tavis's command-decision, deLint guesses a No).
