What was burgled from the death: the alleged Master, and the Antitoi recovery

• When: the "alleged Master copy" is already intelligence currency by 1 May YDAU; the A.F.R. recover a copy from the Antitoi shop between ?/9 and ?/12-14 Nov YDAU
• What: Dead, DuPlessis becomes a provenance. Steeply, in the desert, says "Whether or not the A.F.R. ever even recover this alleged Master copy from the DuPlessis burglary," then adds: "still, you guys have a Read-Only copy, at least one, you've told us, no?" — both intelligence services now sort the samizdat's copies by their relation to what left the Brookline house. In November the A.F.R. tear apart the Antitoi brothers' shop hunting exactly that: "A.F.R. wanted only to repossess this copy of the Entertainment. As well, chiefly, now to determine: could this copy of DuPlessis itself be copied? This was the real objective: a Master cartridge." After days of lethal viewing-rotations they secure "the samizdat cartridge of Entertainment burglared from the death of DuPlessis" — and the finding disappoints: on Fortier's return, "the found copy was Read-Only." How the cartridge traveled from Gately's haul to the waste-bag of unlabelled cartridges bartered to Bertraund Antitoi is nowhere narrated as a chain — the record gives only the two endpoints and the barter (the aged long-haired man in the Nehru jacket), and the connection between fence-market and shop is left as the text leaves it. Likewise whether any true Master ever existed in the house: "alleged," as printed, and open.
