• What: Erdedy is a resident of Ennet House, having come in from "some cushy Belmont rehab," an account executive at Viney and Veals Advertising downtown per his Intake form — "the college-boy ad exec," so softly good-looking in that "soft mannequinish way Harvard and Tufts schoolboys have," so smooth and groomed, that Gately thinks of him as much younger and mentally calls him "kid"; he also has "that Tufts-Harvard way of speaking without seeming to move his lower jaw". He is in the House mainly for "marijuana addiction", a bottom Gately can barely Identify with as worth leaving a job and condo for; his leg joggles constantly from tensions of Withdrawal (probably "the second-biggest leg-and-foot-joggler in present residence," after Geoffrey Day). He has just started his nine-month humility job pumping gas at the Merit station down by North Harvard St. in Allston, 32 minimum-wage hours a week.
