Clenette narrates the Wardine abuse section

• What: The entire section is told in Clenette's first-person voice (heavy dialect). Reginald fetches her from the blacktop where she and Delores Epps jump double dutch to Wardine, who is hiding beaten in a closet; Clenette rubs Wardine's tear-wet face and helps Reginald tend the hanger-welts striping Wardine's back (Wardine's mother beat her with a hanger; the mother's man Roy Tony has been coming to Wardine's mattress at night). Wardine calls Clenette her "half Sister" and begs her not to tell either mother.
