• What: Tavis became Headmaster into a void (Salic-law aside: a "Headmistress" Avril could not be, with her Deaning, teaching, grammar-PAC, and grief). He took down JOI's founding locker-room motto — TE OCCIDERE POSSUNT SED TE EDERE NON POSSUNT NEFAS EST — and replaced it with the more upbeat "THE MAN WHO KNOWS HIS LIMITATIONS HAS NONE," which Orin bitterly dates to before the head had cooled. At Convocation, through Schtitt's bullhorned crow's nest, Tavis publicly offered himself as the "anger-object" filling in for a dead man, vowing to stay "open to it" — the resentment, loss, and possible contempt — for everyone's psychological health.
