What: "The Moms had had Himself interred in her family's traditional plot in L'Islet Province" — St. Adalbert, "fewer than five clicks west of the Great Concavity," an interment and not a cremation (Notkin, scene 159, flags the appliance/kitchen rhymes without conclusions). At the graveside a gull scored a direct hit on C.T.'s blazer and a fly flew into his open mouth; "several persons laughed.... The Moms probably laughed hardest of anyone." (Per n234, going to this off-grounds funeral was among the last times Avril left E.T.A.'s grounds.)
