• What: Lucien and Bertraund Antitoi are Québécois brothers out of Ste.-Anne-des-Monts in the Gaspé. Lucien is one of the very few natives of Notre Rai Pays who never learned French — one sadistic école-spéciale tutor back in Ste.-Anne-des-Monts spent weeks teaching him, as what n.207 calls his "lone communicable" French, an obscenity dressed up as a declaration of love for Maman — which leaves him with "very limited veto-powers" in the cell and reduces him to communicating in dumbshow; he is a huge (125-kilo) bearded man, keenly interested in weapons and ammunition since boyhood, who as a silent boy carved and sharpened his beloved homemade broom from a snow-snapped limb during a Gaspé blizzard. Bertraund, the French-speaker, is the brains of the outfit by default.
