AA's floor: the point of desperation that finally lets an addict surrender and Come In. Speakers date their lives from it — hearing "the way he felt and the way I felt were, Out There, at the Bottom, before we each Came In" (p. 364); a Cocaine Anonymous speaker reaches "his last binge, the Bottom, which, predictably, occurred on a payday" (p. 708).
