A computer operating system in the novel's near-future setting: the second version of "Pink," described as Microsoft's first operating system after Windows, upgraded once the InterLace network made home entertainment fully digital. By the Year of the Depend Adult Undergarment it is a dinosaur, but it is still the only system that runs the specialized math software the students' war-game Eschaton relies on (endnote 95, p. 1003; still on the era's teleputer spec sheet, p. 60).
