the V.R.5 wallow, continued: the human strip of forehead on the window

quote

There’s I swear to fucking God a human strip of forehead-flesh upstairs on the hall window, and what looks like two eyebrows, and bits of nose. [...] Stice got stuck to the window [...] Kenkle and Brandt were going to detach him with warm water from a janitorial bucket.

Context

The aftermath of 167, reported now as gross campus rumor. Freer bursts in: "There's I swear to fucking God a human strip of forehead-flesh upstairs on the hall window, and what looks like two eyebrows, and bits of nose." Hal, flat on the shag and past caring, explains it like a maintenance note — "Stice got stuck to the window... Kenkle and Brandt were going to detach him with warm water from a janitorial bucket." The gift-body has left an actual piece of itself fused to the architecture, and the fix is a janitor's warm-water bucket. The uncanny event of 167 has fully become an equipment-and-custodial problem, the top instrument's face left as litter on the glass. (The 167 event stays 167's; landed here is the aftermath.)
