The Concavity's exiles surface as Boston demimonde legend: at a Halloween party "there'd been allegedly a Concavity-refugee infant there... a normal-size and unferal infant but totally without a skull," its head conformed square to a "lidless plastic box," worshipped by revelers "as if there were only One." The Reconfiguration's deformed births (n110's "no skulls," 086) have migrated south as displaced refugees and become objects of drugged cult-veneration among South Boston's addicts — the political catastrophe of the north reduced to a party rumor and a worshipped Infant.
