The cell's political heraldry worn as a face: the A.F.R. come "masked in synthetic-blend heraldic-flag irises with flaming transperçant stems," "a plastic fleur-de-lis-with-sword-stem mask" — the Québec fleur-de-lis militarized with a sword-stem, the same emblem Bertraund hung on the war-hero statue now the assassins' insignia. The escutcheon marks them as a national-liberation army, not mere killers: they kill under a flag. (The masks as concealment-apparatus are surveillance-disguise's; landed here as the political insignia, cf. the O.N.A.N. crest in 086.)
