Context

The O.N.A.N. entertainment apparatus shown as continental statecraft: a Saudi Minister of Home Entertainment crossing hemispheres to "cut another mammoth deal" with InterLace, whose "two hubs of manufacture and dissemination" run the Phoenix-Boston axis the whole book pivots on. The dissemination network is not just media but a geopolitical export good — the thing foreign legations fly in to buy — which is why the samizdat that runs on the same pipes will register later as a national-security event, not a piracy one. (The Entertainment's content and the attaché's spectation are entertainment-self's; taken here only as the deals/dissemination-as-geopolitics layer.)
