The White Flag AA meeting (pp. 344–345)

The scene's narrator works like a usage manual: nearly every capitalized Boston-AA term gets a formal definitional gloss on first use, so the book's great AA anatomy is also, structurally, a dictionary of a dialect. Two of the tidiest entries carried here as the sample. This lexicographic scaffolding is what Joelle's grammar-attack at p. 366 will test: the whole apparatus defines its terms scrupulously and still runs on a slogan she can show is senseless.
