Context
The all-caps headnote is the whole frame: the document announces itself as Hal's first film writing, dated one year after the optics-father's death, produced for E.T.A.'s required entertainment curriculum — the filmic inheritance processed as graded homework. The grader's name is Ogilvie, the name on JOI's "former optical and film-development facilities" in the tunnels (p. 51) and plausibly n.24's holographer Urquhart Ogilvie; that identification is an inference the archive flags, not stated here. Either way the son's first sentence about film is submitted into an institution built from the father's optics.
