Accomplice!, the blizzard, and the Weston house — "On the FM band, WYYY was…"
On the FM band, WYYY was apparently doing its weather-report via mimesis, broadcasting raw static while the student staff doubtless did bongs in [p. 950] celebration of the storm and then went up sliding around the Union’s cerebral rooftop.
Context
The one WYYY beat in the scene, and it's the Madame Psychosis format inverted into a joke: the station "doing its weather-report via mimesis, broadcasting raw static" — pure ground, no figure, exactly the configuration that horrified Mario and Hal when the show ran voiceless in 093 ("somebody's mind coming apart right before your ears"), here shrugged off as stoned-undergrad wit. Hal can no longer hear the dead-air broadcast as dreadful; the radio thread's last main-text appearance before the endgame is static read as weather.
