Context
The catalogued Light & halation sighting, and it's a tell: Fortier rides back from casing Phoenix House on a bus whose fluorescent lighting he detests, the detestation dropped in a parenthesis as if it were a private tic. This is one station of the four-character ethnic-Canadian fluorescence marker — n.20 glosses fluorescence as banned in Québec (the DuPlessis kitchen-lights anchor, n020/016), and the same aversion marks Mario, Tavis (n.244), and Avril (p. 898 — carried at 170's entry under this same row). Fortier's is the only one attached to an active A.F.R. terrorist, and the raw gives it zero comment; the surveillance-obsessed scene never notices the tell it's wearing.
