The origin of Madame Psychosis's medium: her father's love was administered as spectation — a "watching-movies-together-based relationship" inherited from his own mother and reenacted daily at the Kentucky Cineplex, regressing to "increasingly child-rated films" as she matured. The scholarship he fought was to "a Boston University whose Film and Film-Cartridge Studies Program was, he apparently maintained, full of quote Nasty Pootem Wooky Bam-Bams" — she escaped the paternal movie ritual into professional film study, straight toward the auteur who would cast her as Death.
