Context
The dead father sits inside his son's film, flask and all. Carlisle's reading of the piece: the cartridge contains actual footage of Jim, filmed by Mario before his death, and its Jim-and-Hal images are deliberately paired shot-for-shot with the Jim-and-his-father images of the garage monologue (15.1) — the family's whole transmission-chain preserved on a contest entry. Recorded as his reading; the text itself never says the footage exists.
