The morning of the SCHIZOPHRENIA: MIND OR BODY? cartridge, with the grad-student Subject watching rapt beside him: the dream-night itself is compressed to "horror-show dreams" but its somatic wake — spasm, wobbling eyes, the sweat-outline like a chalk corpse — is rendered in full. Carlisle's reading (recorded, not adopted): "horror-show" is Clockwork Orange argot, a Burgess-to-Kubrick chain he runs on to 2001's machine named Hal.
