Context
Pre-accident, pre-veil Joelle, the P.G.O.A.T.: the adverb does the theme's work — her beauty is "grotesquely" lovely, an excess that functions socially exactly like deformity. She is shunned, unapproachable, orbited at four meters; either way the face is something no one can bear to look at, which is the seed of the whole undecidability.
