Context
The wheelchair weaponized — the A.F.R. system at full extension. Everything "disabled" in the tableau is armament: the van's HANDICAPPED-plate cover, its ramp turned launch rail, the welded snowplow scoop, the squeak (the cell's audible signature) let off the leash, and the operative's mask the Québec flag itself — leglessness wearing the nation. Carlisle's reading completes it: among three dozen able-bodied forms lying supine, fetal, and hunched on the hillside, the only figure in motion is the man with no legs.
