"Scopophobic" — U.H.I.D.'s own clinical term, the word the veil doctrine is built on — migrated into the narrator's Lenz-register and hung on the watching windows of passing houses: the theme's technical diction loose in the nocturne, attached to the book's most exposure-averse non-member.
