LaMont Chu wants hard intelligence about the Eschaton fallout and Hal's urine trouble; Mario, filming, answers only as a delighted documentarian encouraging his subject, so the two run perfectly parallel and never touch — Chu asking, Mario affirming, until Chu gives up in exasperation. It's played for comedy, but it's the same failure the whole scene is built on: two people fully present to each other and still unable to get a single real thing across the gap.
