Gately's own narcotic given its pharmacology and street argot: Demerol, the C-II synthetic, and the 50- and 100-mg tablets nicknamed "Pebbles and Bam-Bam" up on the North Shore. The cartoon-cute street names for the opiate that drove the burglary economy — the glossary key to the drug at the center of the Gately arc.
