Context
Dropped between a fork-stabbing and a plumbing crisis, in the same apologetic register as everything else: a resident asking, almost politely, whether the Program has a prayer for wanting to hang yourself. The House's daily traffic runs the whole span from petty grievance to the edge of self-destruction, and the flat courtesy of the ask is what makes it land.
